There were another 1,265 West Virginians to recover from the cornavirus. The total number of recoveries is up to 43,605. The DHHR confirmed 34 additional deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 has reached 1,012.

DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 66-year old male from Grant County, a 79-year old male from Raleigh County, a 90-year old male from Jefferson County, a 67-year old male from Preston County, a 71-year old male from Berkeley County, a 95-year old female from Berkeley County, a 76-year old female from Berkeley County, a 74-year old female from Berkeley County, an 86-year old female from Berkeley County, and a 78-year old female from Kanawha County.

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 7, 2020: The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports 1,226,697 total confirmatory lab results received for COVID-19, with 56,128 cases. This is a 1,131 case increase over the last 24 hours.

The DHHR reports an additional three deaths, bringing the total number of coronavirus related deaths to 841.

DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 91-year old female from Roane County, an 89-year old male from Kanawha County, and an 87-year old female from Kanawha County.

"Each death of a West Virginian is a loss if felt by all," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "We extend our sincere condolences to these families and encourage continued abidance of the guidelines and safety measures."

Active cases across WV rose 614. The total number of active cases now sits at 19,691. DHHR confirms the recoveries of 514 more West Virginians. The total number of recoveries is at 35,596.

The cumulative percent positive rose to 3.88 percent. The daily percent positive dropped slightly but still sits above seven percent at 7.24 percent. Here is a breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

These deaths include a 67-year old female from Wood County, an 82-year old male from Wood County, a 91-year old male from Mineral County, an 80-year old male from Fayette County, a 94-year old male from Preston County, an 83-year old male from Mineral County, a 71-year old male from Berkeley County, a 95-year old male from Hancock County, and an 81-year old male from Ohio County.

"It is with great sadness that we announce more lives lost to this pandemic," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "Our sympathies and thoughts go out to these families."

New COVID-19 cases rose by 1,425, bringing the total number of cases in the Mountain State up to 54,997. There are 788 new active cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 19,077. Here is the breakdown of cases in our Southeastern West Virginia counties.

The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed the deaths of a 53-year-old woman from Hardy County, a 72-year-old woman from Lewis County, a 64-year-old man from Marshall County, a 55-year-old man from Kanawha County, a 65-year-old man from Berkeley County, an 82-year-old woman from Mingo County, an 89-year-old man from Brooke County, a 94-year-old woman from Ohio County and a 95-year-old woman and an 85-year-old woman both from Putnam County.

"We mourn with all families suffering the loss of loved ones due to COVID-19," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "I urge all West Virginians to continue to follow all of the safety recommendations."

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020: It was another day of double-digit deaths in West Virginia on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020. There were 13 people who passed away from COVID-19 according to the latest report from the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).

The death toll is now 695. The DHHR has confirmed the deaths of an 84-year-old woman, and an 80-year-old man from Cabell County; a 97-year-old woman, a 73-year-old man, and an 80-year-old woman from Mineral County; an 84-year-old woman from Harrison County; and a 68-year-old man, a 76-year-old man, a 95-year-old man, an 86-year-old woman, an 83-year-old man, a 94-year-old woman and a 93-year-old woman all from Marshall County.

"Protecting the health, safety and well-being of every West Virginian is our ultimate goal," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "In these days of sadness, we must find the strength to support our friends and neighbors while continuing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by practicing safety measures we know work: wearing masks, washing hands, keeping a safe physical distance from others, utilizing free COVID-19 testing, and when possible, staying home."

DHHR has confirmed the deaths of an 84-year old woman from Boone County, a 59-year old man from Kanawha County, a 79-year old woman from Kanawha County, a 68-year old woman from Barbour County, a 72-year old man from Fayette County, an 86-year old man from Ohio County, an 88-year old woman from Ohio County, a 75-year old woman from Jefferson County, a 68-year old man from Hancock County, an 80-year old man from Putnam County, a 69-year old woman from Putnam County, an 89-year old woman from Putnam County, and a 68-year old man from Boone County.

DHHR confirmed the deaths of a 73-year old male from Wood County, an 87-year old female from Marshall County, an 83-year old female from Putnam County, a 95-year old female from Ohio County, a 74-year old female from Ohio County, an 84-year old female from Putnam County, a 94-year old female from Putnam County, an 88-year old female from Jackson County, and a 78-year old male from Kanawha County.

The DHHR dashboard update was delayed due to multiple vendor issues that began Saturday.

DHHR has confirmed the death of an 80-year old male from Berkeley County. "We are deeply saddened by this news, a loss to both the family and our state," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020: The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports 662 new cases of COVID-19 across the Mountain State.

The DHHR also reports a mistake that has been made about one of the deaths reported on Saturday November 7, 2020. A death from Thursday, Nov. 5, of a 90-year old female from Summers County was inaccurately reported yesterday, Nov. 7, so the total deaths stand at 502. There were spelling errors and a wrong birth month reported to DHHR which caused the duplication of reporting.

However, one death was reported during this morning's update. An 83-year-old man from Kanawha County is the latest victim.

"As many West Virginians are growing tired of COVID-19, we must stay vigilant in our efforts to prevent further spread in our communities," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "Our condolences are extended to this family during their time of grief."

New cases rose by 662, bringing that total to 28,404. Active cases rose by 416 to 6,870. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020: The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports 15 people died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 502.

Among those who died were a 72-year old female from Mingo County, a 52-year old male from Mercer County, a 72-year old male from Raleigh County, a 67-year old male from Mingo County, an 85-year old female from Cabell County, an 80-year old male from Fayette County, a 68-year old female from Wirt County, an 83-year old female from Marshall County, a 59-year old male from Cabell County, a 49-year old male from Summers County, a 90-year old female from Summers County, a 77-year old female from Preston County, an 82-year old male from Boone County, a 90-year old female from Boone County, and a 98-year old female from Boone County.

"It is with great sadness that we announce more lives lost to this pandemic," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "Our sympathies and thoughts go out to these families and we ask that all West Virginians do their part to prevent further spread of this virus."

10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2020: The rise in cases across West Virginia has passed the once critical milestone of 3-percent. According to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) the metric reached 3.01-percent. The daily percent positive was 4.48.

There were seven people who died from the virus bringing the death toll to 487. Among those who died were a 77-year-old man from Greenbrier County, a 72-year-old man from Fayette County, a 73-year-old woman from Cabell County, a 66-year-old woman from Kanawha County, an 85-year-old man from Wood County, an 82-year-old man from Putnam County and a 77-year-old man from Jefferson County

"The continued loss of West Virginians weighs heavily on all of us, with the greatest sadness borne by family and friends," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "We extend our deepest sympathy to the affected families."

The number of new cases rose by 540 to 27,087 from 824,644 tests. Active cases rose by 243 to 6,135. The number of recoveries increased 290 to 20,465. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

The latest fatalities included an 89-year-old woman, a 67-year-old man and a 71-year old woman all from Mercer County; a 90-year-old woman from Summers County; a 91-year-old woman from Wetzel County; an 86-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman from Cabell County; and an 82-year-old man from Putnam County.

"The loss of more West Virginians weighs heavily on our hearts," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "As West Virginians, we must not tire of preventive measures that ensure the health and safety of our friends, family and neighbors. I urge you to continue wearing your mask, frequent hand washing and social distancing."

10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020: COVID-19 deaths in West Virginia rose by three to 472 on the Wednesday morning report from the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR). The most recent fatalities are a 96-year-old woman from Brooke County and a 79-year-old man and an 87-year-old woman both from Cabell County.

"Deepest sympathies are extended to these families for their loss," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

The number of new cases in WV rose by 394 to 25,987 from 803,971 tests. Active cases rose by 156 to 5,663 after 235 people recovered. The total recoveries in the Mountain State is now 19,852. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed the fatalities were an 86-year-old man and an 89-year-old man both from Wood County; a 62-year-old man from Harrison County; an 81-year-old man from Barbour County; a 63-year-old woman from Wetzel County; a 91-year-old woman from Randolph County, an 83-year-old woman from Cabell County; and an 81-year-old man, an 80-year-old woman, a 76-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man all from Jefferson County.

"Each death reported is a somber reminder that COVID-19 is still among us," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "We send our sympathy to their loved ones and ask all West Virginians to follow the guidelines to protect each other."

There was only one person who passed away from Sunday to Monday. That was a 71-year-old woman from Grant County.

The latest deaths are a 71-year-old woman, a 73-year-old woman, and two 66-year-old women all from Wetzel County; an 82-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man from Kanawha County; and a 74-year-old woman from Berkeley County.

"The loss of five additional lives is difficult to report," said DHHR Cabinet Secretary Bill Crouch. "To these families, we extend our deepest sympathy and commitment to continue working to end transmission of this deadly virus."

The number of active cases in West Virginia fell by 633 to 4,473 after 951 people were reported as recovering from the virus. The total recoveries went up to 16,166. That is up seven from Monday, following two days without the loss of anyone. The deaths include a 44-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man from Cabell County; a 78-year-old woman from Clay County; an 88-year-old woman from Ohio County; a 77-year-old man from Marshall County; a 71-year-old man and a 70-year-old man from Logan County; a 90-year-old woman from Harrison County; and a 65-year-old man from Brooke County.

10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020: The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reported 280 new cases of COVID-19 in its Saturday morning update, bringing the states total to 20,081. There were 679,933 total confirmatory laboratory results. No new deaths were reported Sunday morning, keeping the total at 399.

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020: The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reported 221 new cases of COVID-19 in its Saturday morning update. There were 671,463 total confirmatory laboratory results, with 19,801 total cases and 399 deaths.

The DHHR reported three new deaths. These include an 84-year old female from Grant County, a 73-year old male from Fayette County, and a 59-year old female from Cabell County.

"As we solemnly observe this tragic loss of life, we must continue to fight this virus," said DHHR Secretary Bill J. Crouch. "It is our duty to protect our family members and neighbors. We extend our condolences to these families."

10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020: An increase in tests produces results in finding COVID-19 cases across West Virginia. There were 498 positives reported on Friday's dashboard from the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR). There were 11,025 tests completed. That is close to the number of tests DHHR Secretary Bill Crouch stated was the maximum capacity for the state.

The total number of positive cases in WV since the pandemic began is 19,580. There have been 666,717 tests in the same time frame. On Friday, the DHHR reported three additional deaths. Those include at 67-year-old woman from Mercer County, a 75-year-old man from Fayette County and a 58-year-old man from Mingo County.

"The continued loss of West Virginians weighs heavily on all of us," said Secretary Crouch. "During this difficult time for our state and nation, we extend our deepest sympathy."

The number of active cases rose by 292 to 4,915. There were 203 people who recovered from the virus. That total now stands at 14,269. Here is the breakdown of new cases in West Virginia's southeastern counties.

Today's dashboard includes a large increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and laboratory results received over the past 24 hours. DHHR has been working in conjunction with the West Virginia Health Information Network to onboard testing entities performing rapid COVID-19 testing in order to receive those results electronically. In the last week (from October 9 and 16), the number of testing entities submitting electronic results has increased from 97 to 170. Four testing entities were onboarded and began sending data on October 15 and that is why there was an influx in labs received. Those include MedExpress, PWNHealth/Walgreen's, Steelfusion/RJ Group Labs, and Valley Health Link Urgent Care/Physicians Practices. These results are from over the last week.

10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020: The County Alert System map is showing only 23 of 55 counties in Green. Monroe County shifted to Yellow and Wyoming County went to Gold.

There were two additional deaths in West Virginia bringing the death toll to 392. The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed the latest fatalities are a 94-year-old woman from Kanawha County and a 65-year-old man from Cabell County.

"We mourn the heartbreaking loss of these West Virginians and send our deepest sympathies to their loved ones," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

There were 264 new positive cases of COVID-19 identified on the DHHRs Thursday report for a total of 19,082. The number of active cases rose by 11 to 4,623. The number of recoveries went up by 251 for a total of 14,066.

The cumulative percent positive rose marginally to 2.82-percent with a daily percent positive of 3.12-percent. The breakdown of active cases in the southeastern WV counties is as follows:

10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020: There were four deaths due to COVID-19 reported by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) on Wednesday morning. Among those was a 67-year-old man from Summers County. The other fatalities were a 73-year-old man and a 94-year-old man both from Kanawha County and an 83-year-old man from Berkeley County.

"Let's honor the lives of these West Virginians by remembering their contributions to our state and most importantly by doing our part to stop the spread of COVID-19 including wearing a mask and following the safety guidelines," said Bill J. Crouch DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

The number of active cases in West Virginia fell by 75 to 4,612. There were 334 people who recovered from the virus.

New cases in the Mountain State rose by 263 to 18,818 since the pandemic began. The cumulative percent positive remains on the rise. It is now 2.81-percent with a daily percent positive of 4.21-percent. The breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counites is as follows:

10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020: West Virginia's cumulative percent positive reached a six-month high.

On October 13, the DHHR reported the cumulative percent positive to be 2.80. It is the state's highest since April 25. The daily percent positive was above average at 4.31 percent.

Statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations also reached an all-time high. The DHHR reported 181 total patients as of Tuesday morning.

West Virginia lost two more people to the coronavirus: an 84-year old Cabell County man and an 85-year old Kanawha County man.

"We mourn with all families suffering the loss of loved ones during this horrible pandemic," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

The DHHR reported 274 new positive cases for a total of 18,555. Active cases also rose by 109 to 4,687. 163 more West Virginians recovered from the virus, marking that tally at 13,481.

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2020: Three more West Virginians lost their lives to the coronavirus as of Monday morning, totaling 385 deaths to date in the state. The victims are a 79-year-old Kanawha County man, an 84-year-old Boone County woman, and a 90-year-old Kanawha County woman.

"As these families grieve the passing of their loved ones, we recognize their great contributions as West Virginians," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "We join in sending our deepest condolences."

The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) is reporting 153 new cases for a total of 12,281. Active cases fell by 1 to 4,578. There were 151 recoveries for a total of 13,318. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

Wyoming: 1

The cumulative percent positive stayed steady at 2.78-percent with a daily percent positive 2.62-percent. On the County Alert System map Mingo County is now in the Red. There are six counties in Orange and two in Gold.

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020: The latest information from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) shows the death toll is now at 382. There was one new death reported Sunday morning. A 71-year old female from Kanawha County.

"As we announce another death and send our sympathy, we also are grateful for our healthcare workers and all on the front line who continue to battle COVID-19," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

There were 215 new cases of the virus identified for a total of 18,128 cases out of 633,333 tests. That brings the active cases up 133 to 4,579. There were 81 people who recovered. The total is now 13,167. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2020: West Virginia's state leaders set a daily goal for testing of more than 7,000. On Thursday the numbers passed that minimum goal. According to the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) dashboard there were 7,934 tests. The total number of tests since the pandemic began is now 617,045.

There are six people who passed away. That includes a 61-year-old woman from Fayette County. The other fatalities are a 74-year-old woman from Kanawha County, a 64-year-old man from Cabell County, a 70-year-old woman from Logan County, a 65-year-old man from Wayne County, and a 68-year-old woman from Jackson County.

"We continue to grieve the loss of more West Virginians today," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "Our deepest sympathies are expressed to their families."

There were 382 new cases of the virus identified for a total of 17,707. That brings the active cases up 179 to 4,435. There were 197 people who recovered. That total is now 12,896. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020: The latest information from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) shows the death toll is now at 370. There was one new fatality in Thursday's report. The latest victim was a 78-year-old male from Kanawha County.

There were 256 people who recovered from the virus for a total of 12,699. The active cases fell by 71 to 4,256. The cumulative percent positive stayed the same at 2.77-percent. The daily percent positive dropped to 2.56-percent.

There were 186 new cases for a total of 17,325 from 609,111 tests. Several counties in our area saw an increase in positive cases. Here is the list of new cases in the southern WV counties:

There were five additional fatalities on Wednesday's report including a 67-year-old man from Wyoming County and an 81 year-old man from Fayette County. The other three deaths are a 56-year-old man and a 65-year-old man who were both from Kanawha County and a 72-year-old man from Harrison County.

"It takes each of us doing our part to slow the spread of this disease," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "Our sympathies are extended to the families of these West Virginians."

There were 201 people who recovered from the virus for at total of 12,443. With those who passed away, the number of active cases fell by 3 for 4,327. The cumulative percent positive is back up to 2.77-percent. The daily percent positive is 3.27-percent.

There were 203 new cases for a total for 17,139 from 602,802 tests. The number of cases reported in Mercer County fell by nine. This is attributed to people crossing county borders to be tested. Here is the list of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

According to the County Alert System map there is now only one county in the state which is Orange. That is Upshur County. The infection rate there is 34.86 with a percent positive of 6.76. There are seven counties in Gold, including Nicholas.

10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020: The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reported the number of active cases stayed the same on Tuesday. There were 194 new cases identified, however the number of recoveries, 191, and the three deaths kept the active cases at 4,330.

The deaths include an 82-year-old man from Kanawha County, along with a 64-year-old woman, and a 72-year old man who were both from Cabell County.

"We offer our deepest sympathy as our state grieves further loss," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

The total cases in West Virginia is 16,936 from 599,040 tests. The number of recoveries is 12,242. Here is a look at the number of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

The cumulative percent positive rose for the first time in days to 2.76-percent. The daily percent positive is 2.75-percent. On the County Alert System map there are four counties in Orange and six in Gold.

10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2020: The percent of positive cases in West Virginia is steadily dropping. On Monday morning it was 2.74-percent. That is a drop from the peak at the end of September at 2.77-percent. The daily percent positive is 1.52-percent.

There were three people who passed away from the virus. Those are a 53-year-old woman and an 86-year-old woman both from Kanawha County, and a 70-year-old woman from Putnam County.

"We extend our sympathies as we mourn this loss to both the families and our state," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

There were 114 new cases reported by the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) for 16,742 since the pandemic began. That is from 596,040 tests. The number of active cases went up by 42 to 4,330. There were 69 recoveries for a total of 12,051. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:

10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020: The West Virginia DHHR confirmed the death of an 81-year-old woman from Kanawha County. This brings the total number of deaths to 358.

"Our deepest condolences are extended at this time of grief," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

There were 160 new cases reported Sunday morning. This brings the state total to 16,628 cases with 4,288 active cases. There were a total of 589,583 tested. The cumulative percent positivity is 2.75-percent and the daily percent positivity is 1.97-percent.

10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020: DHHR confirmed the deaths of an 86-year old woman from Fayette County and an 82-year old woman from Kanawha County. These deaths bring the total number to 357.

"The passing of these West Virginians is reported with a heavy heart and we extend our deepest sympathies to their loved ones," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients is 11, 938. 139 more people recovered from Friday.

There were 161 new cases reported Saturday morning. This brings the state total to 16, 468 cases with 4, 173 active cases. There were a total of 582, 208 tested. The cumulative percent positivity is 2.76-percent and the daily percent positivity is 2.42-percent.

10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2020: West Virginia reached the testing goal set by state leaders. On Thursday there are 9,903 people tested in the Mountain State for at total of 576,026 since the pandemic began. This revealed 283 new cases. That total is now 16,307.

There was one person who passed away. An 89-year-old man from Marion County. The death toll is now 355.

"We regret to report another death of a fellow West Virginian," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "Each life lost is heartbreaking and we extend our sincere condolences."

Active cases rose by 85 to 4,153. There were 197 people who recovered from the virus. That total is now 11,799. The cumulative percent positive remained steady at 2.77-percent. The daily percent positive was 2.80-percent. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties.

10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020: The number of COVID-19 tests in West Virginia on Wednesday nearly reached the minimum goal sought by the state. There were 6,688 tests for a total of 567,801 since the pandemic began. The goal is to have at least 7,000 per day.

The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reported four additional deaths from the virus for a total of 354. The deaths include a 70-year-old woman from Ohio County, a 79-year-old man from Berkeley County, a 61-year-old man from Kanawha County, and a 48-year-old woman from Marion County.

"Every death reported is a reminder that each of us has a role to play in preventing the spread of COVID-19," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. "We send our sincere sympathy to these families."

The total cases in WV reached 16,204. That is an increase of 176. Active cases rose by 77 to 4,068. There were 95 people who recovered for a total of 11,602. The new cases identified in the southeastern WV counties are as follows:

Another five deaths due to COVID-19 are reported by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR). Among those was a 56-year-old man from Fayette County. Other fatalities were two 68-year-old men from Kanawha County; a 95-year-old man from Boone County; and an 81-year-old woman from Putnam County, and .

"As we recognize and honor the lives of these West Virginians, we also extend our sincere condolences to their families," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary.

Active cases in West Virginia fell by 23 to 3,991. There were more recoveries than new cases on Wednesday's report. The DHHR showed 174 people recovered for a total of 11,507. There were 156 new cases. That total is now 15,848. Here is the breakdown of new cases in the southeastern WV counties:
